A First Time Visit to RHS Hampton Court Flower Show

I hadn't intended to go to Hampton Court Flower Show this year but it was certainly on my list of 'must do one day'. However, via the magic of Twitter (you will find me there as @islaveevee btw) I was invited to go along as a guest of Anglian Home Improvements (http://www.anglianhome.co.uk/hampton-court-flower-show/) and so on Thursday set off bright and early, armed with my cameras. The journey, sadly, did not go as planned with the last 7 miles taking 2 hours! Nontheless on arrival I hot-footed my way to the Hampton Court Grapevine Theatre, which was sponsored By Anglian Home Improvements. The theatre was hosted by gardening expert and TV presenter David Domoney (http://www.daviddomoney.com/), star of Garden ER, resident gardener on Daybreak and co-presenter of the ITV series, Love Your Garden with Alan Titchmarsh. When I arrived David was out and about, interviewing visitors to the show and the results were being beamed back live to the audience in the theatre.

Throughout the day there were also tips from various gardening experts.

Advice from Suttons Seeds expert.

The highlight for me was the appearance of Toby Buckland, gardening celeb and nursery owner. He was talking about growing your own tomatoes and taking questions from the audience - including one from me!
Seems the problems I have had with my tomatoes in the past are as a result of erratic feeding. Whoops!

Having been inspired with practical advice it was now time to feast the eyes on the show gardens!

So a first time visitor now can't wait to visit next year!
